Central Car Auctions has donated £5,000 to support a Glasgow nursery group after vandalism delayed completion of a new outdoor learning space.
The donation will help Ivy In The Park, based in Carntyne in the city’s east end, complete an outdoor classroom created from a disused underground train carriage.
The project was set back in May 2025 when vandals caused extensive damage to the converted subway unit.
The incident delayed progress and added to the overall cost of the project, which exceeded £30,000, leaving children and staff at the nursery group distressed.
Despite the setback, the outdoor learning space has now been completed and transformed into a safe and creative environment designed to support hands-on learning.

Central Car Auctions said the donation reflects its commitment to supporting local communities and helping community projects recover from unexpected challenges.
Jason Miller, managing director at Central Car Auctions, said: "Ivy in the Park plays a vital role in the local community, offering programmes and activities that support children, families, and residents across the area.
"Restoring the unit will help them continue delivering the fantastic work they do every day.
"We’re pleased to help such an important community organisation continue their great work."
Alan Govan, nursery director at Ivy in the Park, said: "The continual vandalism was absolutely devastating for our children and team - we put so much time, care and investment into creating something special, only to see it repeatedly damaged.
"We’re incredibly grateful to Central Car Auctions for their generous support.
"Their kindness has helped us restore this space and ensures our children can enjoy the outdoor classroom to its fullest potential."
